Meet the 2009 Falcons Coaching Staff

Darrel Gorham……Head Coach; Offensive Coordinator

The 2009 football season will mark my fifth year as the head football coach at Highlands Ranch High School. I have coached football for 25 years.
I believe HRHS has the best coaching staff in the state of Colorado. This year we will continue to stress fundamentals and grow in strength, which I feel will lead to an outstanding season.

I have three beautiful daughters. Saundra 27, who got married last summer and moved away to Bluffton, South Carolina. Saundra will be teaching and coaching. Sharee 23, is a cosmetologist working in Fort Collins, and Cyndi 17, is a senior here at HRHS. Watch for Cyndi on the field as she assists her dad as a trainer. When I am not involved with football, I enjoy spending time with my daughters, playing golf, and fishing.

I am privileged to be a part of Highlands Ranch High School. The administration has made this an incredible working experience for me. Our principal, Jerry Goings, and Athletic Director, Janelle Peters, have been incredibly supportive of me as a teacher and the head football coach.  I am honored to be associated with such an outstanding school.

Mark Story... Assistant Head Coach, Running Backs

This is Coach Story's 20th year coaching. He has spent the past fourteen years teaching math and coaching at Highlands Ranch High School. "I enjoy helping players develop not only their athletic abilities, but also the skills that will allow them to be successful outside of the game of football," says CoachStory. "These skills include things such as commitment, teamwork, respect, accountability, time management, and the ability to deal with adversity. Being part of a team sport, unlike an individual one, requires that every player has a role that contributes to the team and that role, no matter how small, is necessary for the team's success."

Coach Story and his wife, Karen, have four children, Justin (21), a HRHS graduate who is currently attending Metro State, Brendan (14), Allyson (9), and Caitlin (7).
